Earlier this year SoincWALL release their Annual Threat Report to the public. The report talked about the good and the bad that has happened on our systems over the past year and also details what we can expect in 2017.
There has been some wins judging from the report. Malware has gone down from 64million to 60milion and the law enforcement's have taken out a good deal of malware kits. The report also highlighted the use of SSL on the rise with encrypted communications with a 34% growth from 2015 to 2016.
It's not all roses. The report did find some worrying statistics noting that criminals are moving from older hacking methods to where they can find more money easier and quicker... Ransomware. Not surprisingly, this form of attack increase exponentially.
In the video, Bill Connor, CEO of SonicWALL gives us the low down of the report.
